happy and sad

Many things to share/comment on.... 1. Two friends have recently had babies. One named Charlotte Annabelle and the other Annabelle Grace. These friends don't know each other, at least not that I know of. Strange that they both have Annabelle in the name, apparently it is going to be pretty popular these days. I have one friend who is going to have a baby any day now, I wonder if there will be any Annabelle there. 2. My computer should be here today! Although there will probably be some difficulties in receiving it as I don't think they will leave it without a signature, so I probably won't get it until tomorrow. 3. Earth Day is this weekend. I think I am going to go to the celebration here. Apparently Home Depot is giving away flourescent light bulbs this weekend, so go get some. 4. My friend Kristen and I were planning a great little weekend adventure to St. Augustine in May with the tickets we didn't use last summer because of my Grandma's death, but apparently the tickets are non-transferrable and so only Matt and I can use them. I was really excited, now I am disappointed and sad. 5. Last night we watched The Last King of Scotland. Most of it was pretty good, but then it got really gruesome and graffic. I turned away and then Matt fast forwarded through parts of it. 6. Another video that won't allow me to post it like the previous one. Enjoy! 7. Still sad about the whole VT thing.

home exchange

There is has been all sorts of stuff in the news about the home exchange vacation lately. Most recently there was an article on CNN. I am really intrigued about this whole thing. One because it would be a very afforable way to travel. Two because you get to stay in an actual house and not in a hotel, where you have the opportunity to meet more local people and experience life as the person who lives there would. But I have a huge issue with the whole trust thing. I mean how do you know that this person isn't going to steal your stuff or ruin something? Maybe the people involved in these things just have a lot less stuff than I do. There are things that are relatively cheap and replaceable such as DVDs or CDs and then there are more pricey things like jewelry or even family heirlooms that are irreplaceable. I know that you give reviews of people who have swapped before, but someone has to take a chance and trust you first in order to get good reviews. This is essentially the same thing as ebay, but ebay also fraud stuff built into their agreements and such. I would like to try the home swap thing at some point. Maybe when I am old and retired or something. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Am I the only one who has trust issues with this? Or would you gladly open your home to strangers?
